Afternoon at Audioline
On 14 March 2026, Bobby of Audioline hosted a special afternoon that felt less like a product launch and more like a gathering of like-minded audiophiles. Held at their showroom in Orchid Country Club, the event brought together enthusiasts across Singapore — some long-time TAD owners, others simply curious to hear what the brand had been working on.
TAD A1000 & E1 AX Launch
The spotlight was on two new releases: the TAD A1000 Integrated Amplifier and the TAD E1 AX loudspeakers. For many attendees, the A1000 was particularly interesting. TAD has always been known for its pre/power amplifier setups, so seeing their first integrated amplifier felt like a meaningful shift. It opens the door for those who may not have the space — or need — for multiple components, but still want to experience the signature TAD sound.
The E1 AX speakers also drew plenty of attention. Building on the well-known E1 series, this new version continues TAD’s approach of designing speakers that work in real living spaces. Rather than requiring a dedicated listening room, the E1 AX is meant to perform in everyday environments — something many of us can relate to. With improvements in cabinet design and their CST driver technology, the speakers aim to deliver both scale and precision without overwhelming the room.
A real highlight of the day was the presence of TAD CEO Shinji Tarutani. Instead of a formal, distant presentation, Shinji-san took a very approachable tone, sharing insights into how and why these products were developed. It wasn’t just about specifications — it was about intent, philosophy, and the balance between engineering and musical enjoyment. For many in the room, this was a rare chance to hear directly from the person shaping the brand.
The event featured two listening setups. The first focused on the new A1000 integrated amplifier paired with TAD’s digital front end and CE1 speakers, showing how a relatively compact system could still sound refined and complete. The second setup stepped things up with the E1 AX driven by TAD’s separates, offering more scale and presence for those curious about a full system.
More a Gathering Than A Product Launch
But beyond the equipment, what made the afternoon enjoyable was the atmosphere. Between sessions, guests mingled over coffee and light bites, exchanging thoughts, asking questions, and sharing their own system experiences. Conversations flowed easily — from room acoustics to favourite recordings — and it quickly became clear that events like this are as much about the community as they are about the gear.
Audioline also kept things open and welcoming, encouraging guests to stay back, interact, and even arrange private listening sessions if they wanted a deeper dive later on. That kind of accessibility makes a difference, especially for those still exploring what direction they want to take in their Hi-Fi journey.
In many ways, this launch wasn’t just about new products. It reflected a broader shift in high-end audio — one where great sound is becoming more adaptable to real homes and lifestyles, without losing its core identity.
For those who attended, it was a reminder that Hi-Fi isn’t just about equipment. It’s about shared experiences, conversations, and the constant curiosity to discover better sound together.
