Vivid Audio Giya Cu Series: Where Art, Science, and Sound Unite

Vivid Audio Giya G2 Cu

A Evening of Audio Excellence

The global debut of the Vivid Audio Giya Cu series took place on 10 October 2025 at XAudio Singapore, where a select group of passionate audiophiles gathered for an intimate listening session. The event was hosted by XAudio founders Swee and Bryan, whose dedication to high-fidelity experiences has made their showroom a cornerstone of Singapore’s Hi-Fi community.

Guests were treated to a full audition of the new Giya Cu loudspeakers, pairing Vivid’s sculptural beauty with an acoustic performance that left the room buzzing with excitement. It was a fitting world premiere for a speaker series that fuses cutting-edge engineering with a striking sense of artistry.

A Legacy of Innovation

For over two decades, Vivid Audio has been redefining what high-end loudspeakers can be. Founded in 2001 by Philip Guttentag and Laurence Dickie — the same visionary behind the legendary Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus — the company has consistently pushed the boundaries of acoustic design.

Every model in Vivid’s lineup embodies the same mission: to blend engineering precision with sculptural beauty and deliver sound free from coloration. The latest Giya Cu series continues this pursuit with renewed purpose and refinement.

A New Evolution of the Giya

Now entering its third generation, the Giya Cu (Copper) range showcases how far modern loudspeaker design has come. The family includes four models — G4 Cu, G3 Cu, G2 Cu, and G1 Spirit Cu — all sharing the same four-way, five-driver configuration but varying in size and output.

The smallest, G4 Cu, offers all the magic of the Giya sound in a compact form, while the flagship G1 Spirit Cu is a statement in both presence and performance. Each retains the unmistakable Giya silhouette — now more elegant and refined than ever.

Design Refined, Sound Reimagined

At first glance, the Giya Cu’s sculptural curves look familiar, but beneath the surface lies a host of advancements. Vivid’s engineers have reworked the enclosure using resin-infused glass and carbon fibre composites, resulting in a cabinet that’s lighter, stiffer, and smoother.

The brand’s signature tapered tubes are now integrated within the main structure using a clever re-entrant absorber system, creating a seamless visual flow and improved acoustic control. The result is a cleaner aesthetic and an even purer soundstage.

The Copper Advantage

Chief Designer Laurence Dickie explains that the “Cu” in the new Giya range refers to its copper-capped midrange drivers, first developed for the brand’s flagship Moya M1.

These copper caps dramatically reduce second- and third-harmonic distortion — by up to 20 dB — lowering compression and improving tonal accuracy. The payoff is a midrange that’s vivid and lifelike, with bass that feels tighter and more articulate.

Complementing these updates are redesigned crossovers, Moya-style individual driver grilles, and user-friendly rear terminals that make installation simpler and more elegant.

Handcrafted Precision from South Africa

Each Giya Cu speaker is built by hand at Vivid’s facility in Durban, South Africa, where a team of 35 skilled artisans oversee every step — from the stressed-skin composite enclosure to the custom-designed drivers and crossovers.

This hands-on approach ensures that every pair meets the company’s exacting standards. Underneath the artistry lies serious science: Vivid’s hallmark technologies — Catenary Dome diaphragms, Tapered Tube Loading, Reaction Cancelling Mounts, and Super Flux magnet systems — work together to eliminate resonance and achieve what the brand proudly calls “the absence of any sonic signature.”

A Work of Art You Can Listen To

Eighteen years after the first Giya took the Hi-Fi world by storm, the new Giya Cu reminds us why Vivid Audio remains one of the most forward-thinking brands in high-end audio. Combining sculptural beauty, acoustic innovation, and impeccable craftsmanship, the Giya Cu isn’t just a loudspeaker — it’s a sonic sculpture designed to move both the air and the soul.
